When the majestic lion greets the African dawn with a thundering, rumbling roar, guests at Mowana Safari Lodge gently awake in suites and rooms of uncompromising luxury. For at Mowana, guests are accommodated in a cocoon of comfort and style, surrounded by the rich textures of Africa. The ancient trunk of a towering baobab tree, old as time itself, dominates the spectacular reception area of this magnificent thatched lodge, located at the junction of the world's most spectacular natural wilderness. Rustic elegance is the theme of Mowana's decor, including delightful touches such as unique, individually hand-painted bathroom basins and woven matting in each room.
Watch hippo and elephant wallowing in the river's swollen waters from the vantage of the Savuti Bar or while enjoying the delectable cuisine at Serondella Restaurant. Exciting game viewing safaris in the surrounding Chobe reserve, by riverboat, 4 x 4 vehicles or on foot take visitors within touching distance of game great and small.
As the sun sets, draw near to the open-air fire in a traditional reed- enclosed outdoor boma. The sparks of flames scatter upwards to mingle with millions of jewel-like stars in a sky of black velvet as the hyena's haunting cry welcomes the night. This is Africa. This is Mowana Safari Lodge.
ACCOMMODATION
All rooms have been furnished in an ethnic style and designed to blend in with the surrounding natural ambience of Africa, with each room boasting its own balcony and spectacular river view. They are equipped with both airconditioning and overhead fans and each one has a minibar, as well as direct dial telephones. The whole complex is under thatch.

WILDLIFE ACTIVITIES
A wide range of activities ranging from the two and a half hour game drive and cruises to 11 day safaris are available. Guests are also able to walk along riverbank pathways in the Hotel Grounds on nature walks. Northern Botswana contains some of the finest undisturbed natural areas on the African Continent. The combination of the Okavango River and it's inland delta, Kalahari Desert , makgadikgadi Salt Pans, Mopane Woodland and open Savannah ensure that a wide variety of different plants and animals are to be seen.
BAR AND RESTAURANT
Situated on the first floor overlooking the river, the Hotel offers a resident lounge and Savuti Cocktail Bar. On the ground floor is the Serondella Restaurant which offers both an a la carte and buffet menu.
