Gunns Main Camp - Moremi Game Reserve
Gunn’s Main Camp overlooking the legendary Chiefs Island and bordering the Moremi Game Reserve, is one of the last few remaining old style safari camps, set under leafy palms and African Ebony to blend naturally with its unique environs to offer all the comforts balanced by rustic simplicity.
Accommodation is in 7 luxury Kenya-style tents and a thatched honeymoon chalet, set under leafy palms and African Ebony, affording panoramic views of the Delta. Each tent has twin beds and ensuite facilities. Our elevated bar and dining area overlooks the Moremi Game Reserve, and there is a swimming pool for those who need to cool off after a good days game viewing. We also have a curio shop and boma
Your Safari starts with a twenty-minute light aircraft transfer from Maun over the South Western Delta. You will be met at the private airstrip by our welcoming hosts and shown to your en suite accommodation. The main activities are mokoro (traditional dug out canoes) and powerboat excursions (water levels permitting) with our experienced guides who have spent their lives accumulating knowledge and understanding of the complex ecosystem of the Okavango Delta.
As they show how to silently observe nature with minimal impact you will begin to realise the privilege and quiet excitement of being in one of those places that makes memories for you. We can offer one of the largest remaining populations of the larger Carnivores with many sightings of the elusive Wilddog. Elephant and Buffalo, amongst others are regularly sighted, and you can experience a broad cross section of African plains game in abundance. This area is a birder's paradise with over two hundred and fifty species noted.
