It is on the banks of Botswana’s fabled Stolen River, that you will find Savute Safari Lodge in a setting of singular beauty. The now dry Savute channel is part of the dynamic Savute eco system renowned for its large concentration of elephant and lion and their troubled relationship.
Savute’s signature expansive glass sliding doors and viewing decks were inspired by the striking panorama. Whether seen in the dry
season when it can appear desert-like and barren beyond belief or after the rain on one of those crystal clear days across the vivid
green of new grass, the impression is always breathtaking.
Savute Safari Lodge accommodates only 24 guests in local timber and glass chalets with cool thatching. The chalets have been elegantly furnished in calm neutral tones to compliment the natural environment. All chalets have private decks, a combined bedroom / lounge area and en-suite facilities, which sets the lodge apart from typical safari accommodation.
You can sink into one of the numerous comfortable leather, wood or wicker arm chairs or sofas in the lounge and library or sip a cocktail in the stylish bar, all of which are situated in an exquisite thatch and timber main building, which overlooks the channel.
Savute Safari Lodge boasts a viewing deck, al fresco dining area & swimming pool with spectacular pool loungers - ideal for watching game as they come and go from the water hole like old friends at a local meeting place.
Activities center around game drives in open 4x4 safari vehicles in the Savute area, including the Savute Marsh, and a visit to the ancient San rock paintings at Gubatsa Hills.
Savute lays claim to the second biggest summer zebra migration in Africa, which is determined by the rains, but usually occurs between November - December and again between February - April when the zebras are in search of the rain-ripe grasslands.

Children
No children under 12 years are accepted. No childcare/baby-sitters are provided for at any of our properties. Children must be under the care of their parents at all times. Children aged 16 yrs & younger to share with a parent at all times.
How to get there
Access is via charter aircraft from Kasane (served by daily road transfers from Victoria Falls and Livingstone) and Maun to the
Savute airstrip, operated by the Department of Wildlife. Savute Safari Lodge can also be reached by 4x4 vehicle.
Airstrip co-ordinates
Savute airstrip: 18.31S 24.04E. The registered gravel airstrip is 1000 metres long and in good condition. Please check with your
travel agent regarding luggage restrictions.
Electricity
Suites are equipped with a 220-volt AC plug for hairdryers and inverted 12-volt DC lighting for nighttime use once the generator has been switched off. Video batteries can be recharged – AC 220 volts.

Visa, MasterCard and Diners Club credit cards are accepted, but not American Express.
Excess Baggage
Is 20kg per person in soft sided bags.
