Location

Botswana does not come any more beautiful than Camp Moremi. Situated on the shore of the Xakanaxa Lagoon that forms part of the Moremi Wildlife Reserve, the camp has the singular distinction of sharing proximity with both the arid planes of the Kalahari and the verdant locale that is the Okavango Delta. Visitors can expect to be treated to vistas that comprise ancient Mopane forests, vast grassland expanses, as well as floodplains and riverine habitats that form seasonally.

The Camp

Beneath the shade of majestic ebony trees, the lodge comprises a thatch and timber building that includes a dining room, stylish cocktail bar, a main lounge where guests can mingle, as well as a comprehensive wildlife reference library. Other facilities that have been included for guests’ convenience include a thatched boma and viewing hide that affords unparalleled views over the Xaxanaka Lagoon, as well as private swimming pool and sun deck. The camp offers accommodation for a maximum of 22 guests at any given time in safari-style tents on raised platforms, which boast private facilities, viewing decks and distinct East-African dècor.

Activities

Morning- and afternoon safaris are a much-anticipated highlight of each day, as visitors pile into the Moremi Wildlife Reserve’s 4x4 vehicles to track big game. The area is renowned for its prolific wildlife and visitors are more often than not treated to sightings of lion, leopard and cheetah, as well as the lesser-spotted wild dog. Birdlife enthusiasts will be happy to know that there is the possibility of exploring the lagoon and its myriad channels by motorboat, which affords exception birding opportunities.
