Nowhere on a Botswana safari will you find such a magnificent region as Footsteps Across the Delta. The magnificence of the Okavango River flooding the dry Kalahari Desert is a natural phenomenon you will want to see at least once in your lifetime. Once the river has rejuvenated the dry earth, palm islands, riverine forests, swamps and sandveld consume the desert with blushing life force. This brings a host of animals to the Okavango Delta as they have waited for the lifesaving water to arrive.

When you visit the Delta on a Botswana safari, the true beauty needs to be discovered by walking on foot, or by gliding across the Delta on a mokoro. This is a Botswana holiday experience of overwhelming beauty and diversity, you will not be disappointed.

Accommodation

This camp is ideal in that it is secluded and it accommodates visitors in three twin bed tents. These are all insect proof with sewn down secure tent walls which reach the floors. The tents each have their own bush toilet and bucket shower, and if you need, there is a laundry service available for guests. The wonderful bush kitchen is run by a trained chef where a range of hearty meals are prepared for morning, lunch and evening.

The Safaris

One of the truly spectacular must do activities, is to walk through the Okavango Delta wildlife and natural floral kingdom. The walks are leisurely and dependent on what you are comfortable managing. The idea is to explore and unwind in a natural untouched environment. Fresh spoors track the savannah and grasslands and it is these night events viewed in early morning freshness that are so captivating. You can also take game drives and mokoro trips among others; all of these are available throughout the year.

The site, Footsteps Across the Delta, is intimate and only six guests may stay at a time. It is a special getaway for safari lovers. The idea is to make the most of the majestic savannah and floodplains by taking guided walks so that you can learn about the wildlife, through tracking the movements, animal patterns and their behaviour. Footsteps Across the Delta is all about learning and being educated on the lifestyles of these magnificent creatures. Your guide will also be able to give you information about the natural vegetation in the area.
