Location

Chobe Savannah Lodge is a great example of a premier Botswana safari lodge. Situated in the Eastern Caprivi of Namibia, on a peninsula on the northern bank of the Chobe River, this Botswana accommodation venue overlooks the vast floodplains of the Chobe National Park’s Puku Flats. The lodge offers a hideaway for those visitors who are looking for an exclusive Chobe River experience. The area is renowned for its diverse and prolific wildlife, including the rare Puku antelope.

It is also home to large herds of elephant, buffalo and hippo, as well as concentrations of other wildlife that come down to the river’s edge to drink, graze and hunt. Chobe Savannah Lodge is relaxed and informal, set in a classic African Savannah environment with sweeping vistas surrounding the lodge. The focal point of this Botswana safari lodge is a thatched open-sided main building that features a 270 degree view over the Chobe River and beyond, all the way to the Chobe National Park.

Facilities

Facilities include a swimming pool and an open boma area on the banks of the Chobe River. Chobe Savannah Lodge accommodates only 24 guests at a time in elegantly furnished thatched chalets, all with private decks, a combined bedroom / lounge area and en-suite facilities. All chalets are air-conditioned and have complimentary mini bars. Unlike other properties, where scheduled game activities are prioritised, we offer guests the choice of just taking “time out” or joining in on one of the many activities offered at the lodge.

Guests have a choice of boat excursions in small manoeuvrable boats, which are ideal for close-up encounters with wildlife along the river’s edge, fishing (on a catch and release basis) for bream or tigerfish, and a cultural village visit to one of the surrounding local communities where guests can observe the deep-rooted traditional life styles of the local people.

Chobe Savannah Lodge forms part of the Desert & Delta African Safaris’ portfolio of lodges, which include Chobe Game Lodge, Savute Safari Lodge, Xugana Island Lodge, Camp Okavango, Camp Moremi, as well as Leroo La Tau. Desert & Delta Safaris believes in sustainable, environmentally and socially conscious tourism and offers unique wildlife-, nature- and cultural experiences.

Your stay at Chobe Savannah Lodge is inclusive of accommodation, all meals, local branded drinks, a complimentary mini bar in your room, scheduled activities and a laundry service. No gratuities, curios, items of a personal nature or premium brand drinks are included in the price of your safari experience.
