Akeru - South Africa
For millions of years, the Timbavati bushveld has remained untouched, retaining its wild rugged character and basking in its glory as home to all of Africa's big game. And it is to this home that Waynne and Tammy McLintock invite you to journey to experience the mystical ancestry of this wilderness, spiritual home of the White Lion, that has been called....Akeru.
At Akeru, you will find a refuge - a place of exquisite beauty and peace set amidst several thousand hectares of pristine Timbavati wilderness, wherein vehicle activity is kept to a minimum and radio contact utilised to maximise sightings of interest. The camp overlooks a waterhole which is visited by the Timbavati's small and big game. Time stands still here for guests who while away many an hour relaxing at the pool watching the animals quench their thirst.
