Madikwe River Lodge - South Africa
Situated in the Madikwe Game Reserve, on the border of Botswana, 31/2 hours drive from Gauteng and a mere 45 minutes by aircraft. This lodge intimately positioned on the banks of the Marico River, in the North West province, boasts the 2cnd largest elephant population in South Africa, and is home to the Big Five. Madikwe River Lodge is a malaria free resort. The Lodge is :
· 31/2 hours from Johannesburg.· 1 hour from Gaberone.· From Abjatarskop gate the road is tarred to the main gate.· The Lodge is 40km from the main gate, which runs through the Reserve. · There is 85km of gravel road from Derdepoort gate to the main gate. Conditions of road varies, depending on weather.· The Lodge is 5km from the main gate and the condition of this road also varies, depending on weather.
ACCOMMODATION
All rooms overlook the Marico River.
All rooms are split level, thatched chalets.

3 Family Rooms (accommodates 2 adults and 2 children).
1 Luxury Room.
Only the family rooms can accommodate a third person.
Cots are available on request.

CHILDREN'S POLICY
Children are welcome, but children under the age of 8 are not permitted on the main game drive. The lodge does however offer a shortened children's drive.
Children under 8 are also not permitted in the Boma area for meals, but are required to have their meals in the dining room.

MEALS
Dinner is served in the Boma, and bush dinners can be arranged on request. Lunch is served on the main deck area, while breakfast is served in the enclosed dining room which can seat a maximum of 30 guests.
