ITINERARY 6
8 Days
Explore the wonders of Madagascar's wildlife and see the
contrasts between the east and west - Perinet and Morondava
Situated on Madagascar's east coast, Perinet offers the visitor an abundance of wildlife and flora. Here you will see the largest of the lemur species, the Indri, as well as a large variety of rainforest birds, reptiles and endemic orchids. Morondava, on the other hand, is situated on the Madagascar west coast, and features wide sunny beaches and inland dense, deciduous forests and the reserve known as the Kirindy or Swiss forest.
You will spot birds endemic to Madagascar's west coast as well as endemic nocturnal wildlife, such as the fosa (Madagascar's largest predator), the giant jumping rat (on the endangered list) and the pigmy mouse lemur. An itinerary is available all year round except from February to April when heavy rains could cause flooding of the roads leading to Kirindy.
