Dear Anna

We returned from what was a fabulous holiday and we would like to thank you for making the arrangements, all of which worked. Whilst we loved the whole experience I would like to highlight two elements that were particularly good and a couple of points of interest which are not criticisms :

·      Illyria House – What a super starting point; interesting place lovely garden, great food, really interesting owner and wonderful staff

·      Deception Valley Lodge – Exceeded all expectations; we were the only guests so we were looked after by Braam and his wife who are such nice people, as are the bushmen. The food was excellent and we saw all seven cats which is very rare and a big bonus, the wildlife and birds were amazing; we loved the location and the lodge, although some of the fittings are beginning to show signs of age.

·      Premier Africa were working from an out of date requirement so they wanted to transfer us to Garden Lodge instead of Elephant Valley, we resolved without difficulty when I showed the voucher. One small point; the train arrives at the falls hotel garden so a transfer is not needed.

·      Eagle Island Lodge and Khwai River Lodge are both owned by Orient Express but Eagle is far superior due to better managers. When we do our next trip we would avoid two lodges from the same group because they work to a common formula which may work for some people but we preferred variety. Our guide from Khwai River was particularly good.

It may have been our first visit to southern Africa but it will not be our last, we fell in love with the whole experience; the people, the animals, the birds, the food and the sunshine; we also met some very interesting fellow travellers from a number of countries. We are going to do India in 2013 but we are planning back to Africa for 2014 whilst we can still get into small planes and up into 4x4s.

Once again thank you, we loved every bit of what was a fabulous holiday. Once again thank you; having further considered over the past 3 weeks we are convinced to come back in 2014.

Best regards
John & Llinos
