6 night Victoria Falls, Chobe & Okavango - Intermediate Option


Day 1
Today you board your flight at the OR Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg for the Victoria Falls Airport, Zimbabwe. On arrival at Vic Falls, you will be met and transferred to the Kingdom Hotel, where you will spend the next (2) nights on a bed & breakfast basis.

The closest hotel to the Victoria Falls. The distinctive Zimbabwean design is based on the Great Zimbabwe monument in Masvingo. The Kingdom’s total room complement is 300 in separate two and three storey units. An attractive water feature in the form of a man made lake gives the hotel bedrooms the impression of having been built on the edge of the lake. (Each room has the following facilities: Satellite TV, tea/coffee making facilities, air conditioning, overhead fans, 24 hour room service and laundry facilities). The lake is stocked with fish and a variety of bird life. The hotel is a self-enclosed resort, with the main features being a gaming room featuring interactive video games, creche and children’s play area.


Day 2
After breakfast depart on a guided tour of the falls and traditional village. Here you will view the spectacular Devil's Cataract, Main Falls as well as the Horseshoe Falls. At the village you will have the opportunity to purchase some of Zimbabwe's arts and crafts. In the afternoon you will be collected for a sunset cruise on the Zambezi River including drinks (beer and wine) and light snacks.


Day 3
This morning you will be collected from the hotel and transferred to the Northern Border of Botswana to clear customs. You will then continue to the Elephant Valley Lodge, where you spend the next (2) nights on a fully inclusive basis.

Elephant Valley is a luxury-tented lodge situated within the Lesoma Valley in the Kasane Forest Reserve, which borders Chobe NationalElephant Valley Lodge Pool Park. The Lodge is set amongst massive Camel-thorn trees, (acacia erioloba) with the main dining and lounge area slightly raised overlooking a large waterhole. We are a 20 minute 4x4 drive from the Botswana/Zimbabwe border in one direction and a 20 minute 4x4 drive from Kasane town; Kasane airport; and the Chobe National Park official entrance gate in the other direction. The Chobe riverine area attracts plentiful game throughout the year due to the abundant and constant supply of water. The high elephant population can be staggering in the Chobe National Park, in addition there is a large variety of other wildlife that congregates on the banks of the Chobe River to play and quench their thirst. The main bar and dining complex overlooks a waterhole, which offers fantastic 24 hour game viewing. We also have a curio shop and salt-water swimming pool. Activities available are game drives and boat cruises into Chobe National Park, night drives and guided walks in the concession. Rates include: all game viewing activities (2 per day) plus night drive; transfers to/from Kasane area, Kasane Airport (BBK) and Botswana/Zimbabwe border and all meals.

Day 4

Day 5
Today you will be collected at the lodge and transferred to the Kasane Airport to meet your light aircraft transfer to the Camp Okavango in the Okavango Delta. Here you will spend the next (2) nights on a fully inclusive basis.

Camp Okavango in Botswana is situated on remote Nxaragha Island in the heart of the Okavango Delta, assuring a year-round water wilderness experience. Unashamed luxury blends with the Africa of yore in the elegant thatch and lethaka main building which houses a Camp Okavango Cocktailscocktail bar, lounge and dining room, while the expansive open air patio caters for al fresco meals and evenings around a blazing fire. Dinner served by candelabra is renowned among knowledgeable Africa travellers. Shaded hammocks, reading benches and a delightful sundeck and plunge pool provide relief during the hot midday hours, whilst an elevated observation platform affords stunning views of the tranquil floodplains. The Camp accommodates only 24 guests in intimate exclusivity in East African style safari tents individually sited on raised teak platforms with en-suite ablution facilities and a private sundeck. Each tent is exquisitely furnished with a Rhodesian Teak wardrobe, luggage rack, dressing table, bedside pedestals and traditional directors chairs; colourful woven rugs, designer linen and matching interior blinds complete your African hideaway. Honeymooners are catered for and, for those that demand the ultimate in exclusivity, Camp Okavango boasts the 'Okavango Suite' where your stay may include private game viewing activities. All electricity at the lodge is supplied via the national grid, and power is available 24 hours a day. Video cameras can be Camp Okavango Poolrecharged in guest rooms with out adapters. While the sun rises over the floodplain, you watch the wildlife shed its misty morning shroud. Bursting with life, the bush continuously shifts and transforms as you ride from island to island. Camp Okavango is the ideal base from which to discover the secrets of the Okavango wetland ecosystem. Experienced resident naturalist guides conduct all game viewing activities. The Okavango Delta is renowned for its great natural beauty and diversity, a heaven for rare species such as the Sitatunga Antelope and a birdwatchers paradise. Game activities include exploring the Okavango by canoe and river craft on wildlife and bird watching expeditions. Guided nature walks on the islands of the Delta afford an opportunity to track some of the larger species that inhabit this water wilderness.


Day 6
Today is spent on safari in the pristine Okavango Delta.


Day 7
This morning early after your breakfast you will be transferred by light aircraft back to Kasane Airport, where you meet your road transfer directly back to the Victoria Falls Airport, Zimbabwe. Here you will board your outbound flight back to the OR Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg, South Africa.
