Day 02 – 04

ays at your leisure to enjoy the warm waters and golden sands of the Natal north coast.

Day 05

Today you drive inland to the battlefields district of Kwa Zulu Natal. Here you spend (3) nights at the Babanango Rock Pools Bushcamp on a full board basis. Included in your stay is one guided tour of the battlefields in the area.

Zululand is an amazing place: it has a striking scenic beauty, a great diversity of animals and plants, a colourful and often dramatic history and a world famous people - the Zulus - with their fascinating culture. At Babanango Valley, situated at the heart of Zululand, we like to think that we are able to give you just a glimpse of Zululand - for a lifetime would be too short to get to see and know it all. Rock Pools Bushcamp Offers an affordable yet unique bush experience - an African dream experience, where good hospitality and service are blended in a relaxed informal atmosphere. The deck overlooking the river, is the gathering point for sundowners. At night the log fire and the floodlit river enrich the experience. On warm clear evenings, we do a bush braai for groups who book Rock Pools exclusively. Otherwise you may request that your meal is served at your cottage, where a barbeque fire will be lit and you barbeque your own meal. There are nine cottages under canvas, en suite with showers, decorated in an East African style with brass beds and cottage furniture. The cottages are individually located along the river, each with their own walled relaxation area and each with their own access to the river pools. If parents would like an adventure for their older children, three cottages have a place for a pilot bow tent, where children can sleep, provided with camping mattresses, sleeping bags and pillows. Rock Pools Bush Camp is ideal for private groups and small conferences - an exclusive African Dream.

Day 06 - 07

At leisure to enjoy Babanango Rock Pools Bushcamp and a guided tour of the battlefields.

Day 08

Today you drive onto the Ubizane Game Reserve, where you spend (3) nights at the Zululand Tree Lodge on a fully inclusive basis.

Ubizane Wildlife Reserve boasts a wide variety of game, including white rhino, giraffe, wildebeest, and most species of antelope. You can view the game from the comfort of equipped game viewing Land Rovers, on foot for a more thrilling encounter or on horseback for a wonderfully unique experience. Adjacent Ubizane is the renowned Hluhluwe / Umfolozi Game Reserve, the oldest in Africa where the Big-5 roam the bush. (The Big-5 are made up of lion, elephant, rhino, buffalo and leopard.) Ubizane consists of three distinctly different lodges for you to choose from.

Set in the cool whispering tranquility of a fever tree forest, the Tree Lodge is a truly special retreat where you will be accommodated in luxurious stilted houses and enjoy the most attentive service and the finest in pan-African cuisine. The lodge itself is magnificently appointed with quiet lounges, observation decks and a sunny pool area where you might be visited by a family of warthog, a delicate red duiker or a pair of purple-crested loeries.
