This morning you may want to visit one of the local ostrich farms – very characteristic of the area or take a guided tour of the Cango Caves. From Oudtshoorn you drive over the Outeniqua Mountains to the coast line and continue to the small by vibrant town of Knysna. Here you check into the Brenton on Sea Hotel for (2) nights on a bed and breakfast basis.

Seven kilometers of pristine beach, combined with magnificent views and loads of fresh air make the Brenton On Sea Hotel an unforgettable experience! At the Brenton On Sea Hotel we offer a range of accommodation to suit everyone’s requirements.

Day 03

Today you have the full day to enjoy the Knysna area, by possibly going on a boat cruise on the Knysna Lagoon, taking a guided walk in the Featherbed Nature Reserve, boarding the Outeniqua Tjoe choo steam train that runs between Knysna and George, enjoy a boat cruise up the Keurbooms River, visiting Monkeyland or just spend some relaxing time at the beach.

Day 04

Today you drive down the N2 in a westerly direction to the small coastal village of Hermanus, where you check into the Artists House for (1) night on a bed and breakfast basis. This afternoon you have at your leisure to do some whale watching from the rocks (seasonal: July – October).

The Artists House was the home of internationally represented artist Gail Catlin. Many of Gail's paintings appear on the walls, along with those of her sons John and Thomas, also well-respected artists, as well as her father's ethnographic photographs from the 1930's. Gail Catlin pioneered the technique of painting in Liquid crystal. She designed both the structure and interiors, which are filled with fabrics, sculptures, barks and rocks, all highly prized collectors' items acquired on her travels through Africa. The artist's house is a haven, a place of rest and reflection. Three generous and well-protected verandahs allow for outdoor living with breathtaking views virtually all year round. Without leaving the Hemel-en-Aarde Valley you can visit some of the Cape's leading and internationally award-winning wineries, including Hamilton Russel, Bouchard Finlayson, Whalehaven and Newton Johnson. The views of the mountains, valley and rivers blend into the bedroom through large windows. Each room has been individually decorated with fabrics, sculptures, barks, rocks and other prized collector's items acquired by the owner Gail on her travels through Africa. Natural cotton sheets and down duvets on either twin single beds or queen beds ensure that you have a restful night. All bedrooms have en-suite bathrooms with either a bath or shower and these too have views of the beautiful surrounds. Stop to watch the whales or buy local olives, cheeses, breads, herbs, clothes and pottery from the outdoor market. Donald, Neill and the team have had many years experience in the hospitality industry and look forward to making your stay a pleasurable one. Or take a 10-minute drive into either Hermanus or Onrus to the beach or lagoons, to the shops, galleries, restaurants and delis. Using fresh farm produce, home baked breads, fish from local waters and wines from the Hemel en Aarde, fresh "Classic Country Cuisine" meals are prepared for guests.

Day 05

Today you take a leisurely drive along the very beautiful coastal road that winds its way back to Cape Town. You drop off your car at the Cape Town International Airport.
