    Day 1: Malalane
Sunday: You will be collected at the Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport by 12:00pm and transferred in our comfortable, air-conditioned vehicles to the Jane Goodall Institute - Chimp Eden. This is the only chimpanzee sanctuary in South Africa, and provides you with the rare opportunity of seeing the chimpanzees in semi-wild surroundings that reflect their natural habitat. After this unique experience you will be transferred to your African hotel accommodation, situated on the bank of the Crocodile River. This river forms a natural boundary of the Kruger National Park in Mpumalanga. Accommodation is the Rio Vista Lodge or similar venue.

    Day 2: Kruger National Park
Monday: After a hearty breakfast we head into the Kruger National Park for a full day’s game viewing in our closed vehicle. Led by an experienced and qualified guide, you will enjoy the wildlife safari experience as you search for creatures big and small in the magnificent reserve, which is also home to the ‘Big Five’. Return late afternoon in time to witness a typical African sunset (weather permitting) from the hotel’s deck, overlooking the Crocodile River. Accommodation is the Rio Vista Lodge or similar (same as Day 1). Breakfast is included.

    Day 3: Mozambique
Tuesday: Today we set off for Mozambique where you will enjoy an orientation tour of its capital city, Maputo. History, culture and magnificent scenic views abound as we trail the city and the palm-lined beachfront. After lunch (own expense) we will take a ride on the ferry across Maputo Harbour, to the start of our off-road wildlife safari adventure. Just over 100km south of Maputo we will find our lodge, situated in an isolated and untouched wilderness area that retains its natural beauty. Accommodation is at the Ponta Mamoli Lodge or similar venue. Breakfast and dinner are included.

Day 4: Day at leisure on the beach
Wednesday: Today you will spend the whole day at leisure at this luxurious beach resort. Situated on one of Southern Africa’s best beaches, this idyllic beachside paradise is the perfect place to laze on the sand and enjoy the sun. There are myriad extra activities that you may enjoy, such as scuba diving or horse riding along the pristine beaches, as well as deep-sea-, rock surf- and fly-fishing. Wild dolphins are regularly seen playing in the surf on these beach safaris, while whales and whale sharks are also regular visitors to this area.
Accommodation is at the Ponta Mamoli Lodge or similar (same as Day 2). Breakfast and dinner are included.

Day 5: Hluhluwe and St Lucia
Thursday: Today we enjoy a late start and will visit a local orphanage. It is run by a committed NGO organisation that is determined to improve the lives of the local Mozambique people. We will then drive to northern Zululand, a rural area that is home to the small town of Hluhluwe, where we will enjoy lunch (own expense). We then get back into the vehicles and drive to Hluhluwe-Imfolozi Park, the oldest reserve in Africa and which is renowned for its conservation of the endangered white rhino species. Here we will enjoy a wildlife safari game drive where we may be lucky enough to spot the white rhino, as well as the animals that make up the ‘Big Five’, among others. Hopefully our game drive will be rewarding with a number of animal sightings, and we shall continue on to St Lucia and our hotel for the night. Accommodation is at the Elephant Lake Hotel or similar venue. Breakfast is included.

    Day 6: St Lucia

St Lucia - Tour South Africa

Friday: Today we head out to iSimangaliso Wetland Park (formerly the Greater St Lucia Wetland Park), South Africa’s first World Heritage Site. Here we will enjoy a two-hour boat cruise in one of the largest estuary systems in Africa. Notable for its prolific variety of bird species and other creatures, including vast numbers of crocodile and hippo, this is the perfect area for a wildlife tour. The afternoon is spent at leisure, with optional extras such as a game drive through Eastern Shores Game Reserve or Hluhluwe-Imfolozi Park, or snorkelling at Cape Vidal beach. Accommodation is at the Elephant Lake Hotel or similar (same venue as Day 5). Breakfast is included.

    Day 7: Swaziland
Saturday: This morning we head to the landlocked Swaziland, the second smallest African country. Our journey takes us through scenic mountain countryside to Ngwenya Mine, presumed to be the oldest mine in the world, and dating back to 42 000BC. Here a local Swazi will guide us through certain parts of the mine while regaling you with its history. The Khoisan and Nguni tribes are believed to have worked this mine for thousands of years, mining for Ochre (or iron ore), which was then used in traditional ceremonies. After the cultural and historical part of this wildlife tour we continue on to Malalotja Mountain Reserve and our lodge for the night. Accommodation is at the Hawane Lodge or similar venue. Breakfast and dinner are included.

    Bushman Painting - Wildlife tour
Swaziland - Tour of South Africa

    Day 8: Swaziland and Mpumalanga
Sunday: Depending on the morning’s weather, we will explore an area that features the Nsangwini Rock Art (walking shoes are essential). These rock paintings are the works of the Khoisan people, their way of recording history, and are painted on some of the oldest rock formations in the world. This is the final leg of the tour when we cross the Jeppes Reef Border back into South Africa and drop you off at the Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport by 1:00pm. The final breakfast of this wildlife tour is included.
