Climb Kilimanjaro

Climb Kilimanjaro

Ernest Hemingway once wrote of this highest peak in Africa, “As wide as all the world, great, high and unbelievably white in the sun, was the square top of Mount Kilimanjaro… Kilimanjaro rises above the surrounding African plains to an altitude of 5,895 metres above sea level. Situated just 3 degrees south of the Equator, not far from Moshi - a small town in the north of Tanzania, Kilimanjaro climbers will pass through a number of vegetaton types. First through green forest, then onto high alpine heath and as you move higher, an alpine desert gives way to vegetation and finally the snow & ice marks the majestic summit that is Uhuru Peak. One of the world’s highest free standing mountains, Mt. Kilimanjaro is actually composed of three extinct volcanoes, namely Kibo 5895m, Mawenzi 5149m and Shira 3962m.
