Lion Trek Safari

Day 01
On arrival you will be met by our representative and driven into the panoramic Northern Frontier district, a scenario of semi-arid land, treeless plains and rugged landscape which is home to the Samburu, a Nilo-Hamiti nomadic tribe. Lunch and thereafter an afternoon game drive, which brings into focus, species seldom seen elsewhere i.e. grevy’s zebra, the reticulated giraffe, gerenuk and the blue legged Somali ostrich.

Day 02
A full day of game viewing in the reserve. Herds of elephant gather at the river to drink while crocodile bask on the nearby sandbanks. Enjoy the full day in this dry scrubland and riverine forests, home to buffalos & leopards which are frequently passers-by. Time also to relax by the banks of Ewaso Nyiro river.

Day 03
After breakfast, drive to the beautiful Aberdare National Park check in at the Aberdare Country Club for lunch. Afterwards you will be transferred to The Ark. The park lies in the Abredare Mountains; the eastern wall of the Great Rift Valley forms the western rim of the park, which due to its steepness deters wildlife. The lodge overlooks a floodlit waterhole and salt lick which attracts a host of wildlife enabling you to view them from the comfort of your room.

Day 04
After breakfast, depart to Lake Nakuru National Park to arrive in time for lunch. The park was once described as the most fabulous bird spectacle in the world and it spans an attractive range of wooded and bush grassland around the lake, offering wide ecological diversity – from the lake waters, woodland to the rocky escarpment and ridges. After lunch, you will have an afternoon game drive which will give you the opportunity to view various wildlife both predatory and plains game, not forgetting the abundance of birdlife. This park also serves as home to both the white and black rhino.

Day 05
Breakfast, and depart for Maasai Mara Game Reserve arriving in time for lunch and later an afternoon game drive.  A spectacle worth seeing is the annual migration of millions of wildebeests, zebra, and gazelles from the Serengeti plains across the Tanzania border and Mara River to reach Maasai Mara grazing fields. The dramatic crossing of the river and the preying on the migrants by predators can be viewed early June to August. The Mara has got also thousand of species of bird life and plant life.

Day 06
The whole is spent enjoying the untamed beauty of the Mara. Picnic lunch can be organized in advance so that you can enjoy unhurried game viewing. Vast herds of wildebeest and zebra wander across the Mara grasslands, their numbers increasing during the annual migration from Serengeti. Lion, leopard and cheetah follow close behind, while crocodile and hippo congregate in the Mara and Talek rivers.

Day -7
Breakfast and thereafter depart for Nairobi and transfer to the airport for departure home.
