The Camp
Mashatu Tented Camp is the smaller of the two Mashatu camps, but offers a more intimate stay as there are never more than sixteen guests. Despite the rustic character, many luxurious touches will ensure that you enjoy a stay of utmost comfort. Eight twin tents are on offer, all of which have been insect-proofed. Guests will sleep on comfortable beds and enjoy superb en suite facilities, including a shower. The living areas are spacious and comfortable. Meals can be enjoyed in the open-sided thatch deck or around the camp fire at the traditional boma. A plunge pool will ensure that you can cool off when the African sun starts burning in the summer months.
The Safaris
This Botswana safari camp will provide you with phenomenal game drives. You will be in the company of an experienced ranger who will not only provide you with information about the animals and area, but also ensure that you are safe at all times. Unique Botswana safaris are also on offer for the more adventurous, with walking, horseback and mountain bike safaris available at this camp, for that true African safari experience. While at Mashatu, you could be lucky enough to see seven of Africa’s giants: African elephant, lion, giraffe, the baobab tree, eland, ostrich and the kori bustard. The camp overlooks a floodlit waterhole which can be seen during magical nights around the camp-fire at the boma. Guests can also make use of the hide, which is sturdy and shaded. The hide overlooks that waterhole and provides a peaceful and memorable experience where you can watch the wildlife carry on with their everyday lives, and they won’t even know that you are there.
Child Policy
This tented camp allows you to get closer to nature and is perfect for couples or smaller families with older children. There are age restrictions at this camp, and unfortunately no children under the age of twelve years will be allowed to stay here. Families who have younger children should make use of the Mashatu Main Camp, where they will also find family rooms.
