Location

On the southern tip of Chief’s Island, hidden between ebony and sausage trees, you will find magnificent Botswana accommodation in the form of Stanley’s Camp. This Botswana camp is in a piece of untouched and untamed Africa stretching over 260,000 acres, and borders the world famous Moremi Game Reserve. This paradise in the Okavango Delta is home to a wide range of big game including elephant, buffalo, giraffe, hippo, lion, leopard and cheetah. Guests at this camp could also be treated to sights of the elusive wild dog stalking the plains.

Accommodation

This superb safari camp in Botswana surrounds a large living area which has comfortable seating and excellent cuisine on offer, while overlooking the majestic scenery in the area. Watch giraffes while cooling off in the swimming pool or sip on ice cold drinks while watching a truly stunning African sunset. Stanley’s offers eight classic styled African safari tents which will allow guest to have a smaller, more private stay. These beautiful tents include hand crafted beds, antique furniture and oriental carpets, treating guests to a traditional African feel. Each unit has en-suite facilities and a private balcony on which to soak up the spectacular views. Electricity is supplied by a combination of a generator and battery system, which allows guest to have power 24 hours a day.

Activities

Stanley’s offers excellent game viewing safaris due to the large number of predators and plains-game in the area. The location boasts one of the largest buffalo populations in the Okavango Delta (which in the dry season can concentrate into a herd of over 2000). Game-drives are enjoyed in open vehicles that have been custom built to offer individual seating. Safaris are offered in the early morning, late afternoons and at night. Walking safaris are offered throughout the year and are conducted with an armed guide. Mokoro (traditional canoe) excursions on the tranquil waterways are conducted all year.

The biggest attraction at Stanley’s is their unique elephant activity, which is available at an additional cost. Here guests will enjoy an informative and personal experience with the giant of the wild in their natural habitat and promises to be an experience you will never forget. The main objective is to start a relationship between the guests and the elephants, and consists of two parts: First you “Meet the Herd” and then “Join the Herd “. Rates and more information on this unique activity at this Botswana camp will be given on request.
