Chikwenya Safari Lodge - Zimbabwe
On the river bank, overlooking the channels of the Sapi and Zambezi River confluence, is the remote Chikwenya Safari Lodge. Surrounded by long woodlands of Acacia and Mahogany trees, Chikwenya is truly a wildlife enthusiasts and nature lovers paradise.
Professional guides will take visitors for walks through game-rich flood plains. Here, long abandoned river channels now harbour secret little pools which are lined with ebonies and figs and are home to languorous crocodiles and snorting hippos. Elephants shake shady Acacia albida trees in search of succulent pods, while impala and buffalo graze on open plains and warthogs forage for roots.
From the thatched lodges overlooking the Zambezi River, with its steep, sandy banks and islands, colonies of beautiful carmine bee-eaters, fisheagles, herons and kingfishers can be seen.
Location
Situated on the confluence of the Sapi and Zambezi Rivers approximately 50km downstream from Mana Pools. Chikwenya has it's own exclusive safari area.
