Scheduled Group Tours in Southern Africa
South Africa’s well developed transport network and many excellent wildlife reserves makes this country a popular destination. One of our popular tours is a Kruger National Park and Cape Town combo – and with good reason. Magnificent wildlife viewing combined with sightseeing in the vibrant ‘Mother City’, backed by strikingly beautiful Table Mountain, makes an ideal mixture of experiences for a short visit. If you have a bit more time, you can add on a visit to the Cape Winelands or try an immersion into Zulu culture in rural Kwa Zulu Natal.
The many convenient connections between South Africa and its neighbouring countries enable us to offer many exciting Scheduled Group Tours across the borders. Take in the vastness of Namibia’s desert wilderness on a variety of Fly-in Safaris or go further east where Victoria Falls creates the border between Zimbabwe and Zambia. Fondly known as ‘The Smoke that Thunders’, a visit to this magnificent waterfall is a firm favorite that is included in many of African Gateway Travel’s itineraries.
From here, continue on a safari boat on the Chobe River and to another ‘must-see’ African destination, the wilderness of Okavango Delta in Botswana. Another great combination is the Zambezi Valley and South Luangwa National Park in Zambia. Many visitors also opt for a safari/beach combination where a wildlife experience is followed by a relaxing stay on the white sand beaches of Mozambique.
Scheduled Group Tours in Eastern Africa
The challenging road conditions leading to many of Kenya and Tanzania’s world renowned reserves can make traveling here a challenge for the individual traveler. On a Scheduled Group Tour we combine road travel with internal and international flights to ensure that you get maximum value out of your East African visit.
Famous for its exceptional population of predators and the annual migration of zebra, gazelles and wildebeest to the endless plains of the Serengeti in neighbouring Tanzania every year from July to October, a visit to the world renowned wilderness of the Masai Mara National Reserve is high on many a traveler’s bucket list.
As the rains in Tanzania end in May, vast numbers of wildebeest start returning north on their journey back to the Masai Mara. Our Scheduled Group Tours will take you to the Grumeti and Mara rivers where the crossing is eagerly awaited by crocodiles, predators and photographers alike.
On a Scheduled Group Tour we include a variety of wildlife experiences, each a photographers dream. We visit the Abadare Mountain range where the snow covered peak of Mount Kenya dominates the landscape and drive along shores coloured pink by the vast numbers of migrating flamingos in Lake Nakuru National Park.
Capture elephants in procession below Amboseli National Park’s enviable Mount Kilimanjaro backdrop; the quintessential African image.
The conservation area and UNESCO World Heritage site of the Ngorongoro Crater, a large volcanic caldera that supports an incredible variety of wildlife, is another ‘must see’ destination in Tanzania. Our Scheduled Group Tours can also take you to the undisturbed nature of lesser visited Mikumi National Park or further south, Selous Game Reserve – one of the largest in the world and famous for its photographic opportunities along the Rufiji River.
Wherever in Africa, you select your Scheduled Group Tour; African Gateway Travel will meet you at your port of arrival, such as OR Tambo International in Johannesburg, South Africa or Jomo Kenyatta International in Nairobi, Kenya. From here on you simply sit back and enjoy the splendour of Africa. At the end of your journey, we will wish you ‘Kwaheri’ (good bye) or Hambani Kahle’ (go well) and always a warm African ‘totsiens’ – till we see you again!
