The annual blue wildebeest migration in the Serengeti is unique and surely one of the greatest wonders of the world.  The timing of the migration in the rainy and dry seasons are not fixed and can vary from year to year.  Once the wet season ends, the animals migrate to the dry season areas due to lack of drinking water.  Months later when the rainy season starts again, animals quickly move back to their wet season areas.  During river crossings of the Grumeti River and river Mara, many wildebeest either drown or they are eaten by crocodiles.
