This 3 day Adventure Tour of Victoria Falls promises to thrill anyone who is looking for an active holiday. The touring, accommodation and activities are all based on the Zimbabwe side of the Victoria Falls. We have included flights from and returning to Johannesburg, but can remove these should you already have flights booked, or should you wish for us to extend your visit with a safari to nearby northern Botswana.

Day 01 - Johannesburg to Victoria Falls

On arrival at the OR Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg, you will board your early morning flight to the Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe.  On arrival in Vic Falls, you will be met and transferred to the Victoria Falls Safari Lodge, where you will spend the next (3) nights on a bed and breakfast basis.

This afternoon you will be taken on a Sunset Boat Cruise on the Zambezi River, including light snacks and local drinks. The slow and powerful waters of the Zambezi River above the falls is where we enjoy this activity. The sights, sounds and smells of this magical stretch of river provide is back dropped by classic African sunsets. After sunset you are returned to the jetty for your road transfer back to the hotel.

Day 02 - Full Day of Adventure in and around Victoria Falls

After your breakfast, you will be taken on your guided Tour of the Falls.  Remember you will get wet due to the spray of the falls and there are raincoats available to rent at entry point!  Please keep your cellphones, camera equipment all covered. Our first stop is the Big Tree – a gigantic baobab (Adansonia digitata) which is alive and well and is estimated to be hundreds of years old. From here we continue to the Victoria Falls themselves and enjoy the various view points - many in the permanent spray that rushes up from the gorge. The total walk is about 3 km. This afternoon you have a choice of either Canoeing in the calmer waters above the falls OR White Water Rafting in the gorge below the falls.

Canoeing on the Zambezi River
You are transferred to the meeting point for safety talk, before taking to the water by canoe to explore the channels of the Zambezi River. Proceed to the Upper Zambezi for canoeing through the relaxing channels of the Zambezi River. Lunch is served on one of the islands on the river – cold meats, salads and soft drinks. Local beers are served at the end of the day before transfer back to town.

Whitewater Rafting
Take the shuttle bus from the hotel to the meeting point for a safety talk and to pay the River Usage Fee. Continue to the Gorge for practice in the raft. Proceed with an experienced guide through some of the most exciting rapids in the world, drifting between rapids through breath-taking gorge scenery. Light snacks and cold drinks is served. Rafting continues in the afternoon. An extremely strenuous climb out of the gorge marks the end of the day’s activity, and clients are transferred back to town, arriving late afternoon, after enjoying cold drinks and local beers at the top of the Gorge.

White Water Adventure, Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe

This evening you will be taken on a guided night safari & bush dinner to the Victoria Falls Private Game Reserve. The reserve contains all of the Big 5, including recently introduced black rhino, and many nocturnal game species can be spotted. Bush dinner consisting of various meats, salads and a dessert. Cash bar is available. Transfer back to the hotel later.

Day 03 - Elephant Back Safari & Livingstone Island Tour

This morning early, you will enjoy and Elephant Back Safari Ride, followed by a tour to Livingstone Island for an unforgettable lunch with return hotel transfers.

Clients are transferred approximately 16kms to The Elephant Camp for a 15-minute introductory talk on African elephants and their relationship with man, as well as a safety talk. Clients are then introduced to the elephants and their “Ndunas”. After a short familiarisation with the elephants, the elephant back safari through the bush begins (1.5-2 hours ride). Upon return to Camp, breakfast are served and clients are then transferred back to Vic Falls.

Livingstone Island Lunch
You will be transferred by road and boat across to Livingstone Island, which boasts a unique location very close to the Falls. Sparkling wine is served, followed by buffet lunch. Wines, beers, soft drinks, teas and coffees are included.  If you’re looking to flirt with the wild side, swimming in one of world’s most fascinating natural pools of water, Devil’s Pool, can be experienced during your guided tour of Livingstone Island. This isn’t your ordinary swim in an infinity pool, but a daring dip on the very edge of the Victoria Falls. Brave swimmers will get to experience the ultimate thrill of peering over the brim of the largest curtain of falling water.

What to Wear:  Swimwear, comfortable clothes and walking shoes.
Things to Bring:  Sunscreen, swimming towel, hat, sunglasses and your camera.

This evening is your last, and to celebrate you enjoy the Boma Dinner at the Victoria Falls Safari Lodge site. Dinner is buffet style, and consists of a wide variety of game meats, local dishes, vegetarian options, salads and accompaniments, as well as a range of desserts. During dinner, dancers perform at various intervals – traditional African style, to suit the ambience of this vibey venue. Tea/coffee ends the meal, and a cash bar is available.

Day 04 - Helicopter Flight over Victoria Falls

After your early breakfast, you will head to board your Helicopter Flight of Angels with 13 minutes in the air. On this flight you have the chance to get an aerial view of the falls and its expansive green surrounds.  Upon landing you will be transferred back to the Victoria Falls International Airport, where you will board your outbound flight back to the OR Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg, South Africa.
