Kings Camp in the Timbavati Nature Reserve, South Africa is one of South Africa’s premier African safari destinations. Accommodation at Kings Camp

All eleven luxury suites at Kings Camp have king size beds with flowing mosquitoe nets,  air condtioning is standard and a much appreciated luxury in the hot climate.

The bathrooms have Victorian ball and claw bathtubs as well as in and outdoor double showers. Other features include a private verandah, equipped with a hammock for those lazy midday periods, as well as a fully stocked mini bar.

Kings Camp has some spacious living areas for the guests to use, and these include an open plan lounge and bar area, a swimming pool and a shaded viewing deck that overlooks an, at times, rather busy water hole. A curio shop stocked with tasteful gifts and African curios provides guests with a chance to do a little gift shopping.

A library complete with much nature & history literature, as well as fiction is there for the guests to use. The library also has a 24 hr internet desktop for guests to use if they wish. For the energetic the camp has a well equipped gym, and a variety papering treatments are available, and these include aroma therapy, various massages and hot stone therapy.

Game drive safari, Kings Camp

Morning and afternoon-evening game drives are the main safaris that are offered at Kings Camp. The safaris are conducted in open 4x4 vehicles guided by rangers that have over time and through studies developed good bush knowledge. The morning game drive safaris is typically broken up bya tea & coffee session somewhere in the bush and similarly the afternoon - evening safaris are interrupted only by a cold beverage to be enjoyed whilst the sun sets.

Guided walking safaris are offered but on a low key basis. These take place by prior arrangement with your ranger and after breakfast, that follows the morning game drive safari. These short walking safaris allow guests to experience another side of the bush that is often missed while on a game drive vehicle. Things like tracks, smells, sounds, birds and much more are the highlights.
