Kasaka River Lodge is a classical Lower Zambezi safari camp situated in the Chiawa Game Management area, just 4 kilometers from the Lower Zambezi National Park in Zambia. The camp gazes across the wide open waters of the Zambezi River to the Mana Pools National Park on the Zimbabwean bank. Wildlife such as elephant, buffalo, hippo and crocodiles are often spotted from the camp without having to venture on a game drive safari or any other activity!
Accommodation at Kasaka River Lodge
Kasaka River Lodge is made up of eight luxury chalets (each sleeping 2); a Honeymoon suite; a Family Lodge (sleeping 6); The Acacia Suite (sleeping 4) and the Premium Kigelia Tent (sleeping 2). All accommodations offer ensuite facilities and 24 hour electricity. The main area at Kasaka River Lodge includes a bar and deck area that has fantastic views across the Zambezi River, a small library which stocks mostly African wildlife related books, as well as a selection of board games.
The swimming pool is situated on the ‘tame side’ of the camps (so named for the tendered - garden like surrounds it is located in), overlooks the Zambezi River. Guests can choose the laze away the hot hours of the day on one of the loungers or hammocks.
Safaris at Kasaka River Lodge
Safari activities of course form the core focus of being at Kasaka River Lodge. These are conducted in the Lower Zambezi National Park which is about 15 - 20 minutes game drive from the camp.
The Lower Zambezi National Park boasts a variety of habitats ranging from deep green riverine forest to grassy floodplains to mopane bush. The main guided safari activities on offer are game drive safaris (both day & night), game walks and river cruises on one of 3 pontoon motor boats. Game drives are conducted in open vehicles allowing for a heightened experience both visually and from a sounds and smells perspective.
