Madikwe River Lodge

Madikwe River Lodge takes guests to new levels of service excellence ensuring an unforgettable BIG-5 African bush safari experience.  The lodge is situated in the Madikwe Game Reserve, an easy three and a half hour drive from Johannesburg, two hours from Sun City and only an hour away from Gaberone. An all weather runway for charter flights is a further option. Home to the big five, wild dog, South Africa’s second largest elephant population and a myriad of birdlife, game drives have been described as nothing less than brilliant. At 75 000 hectares the Madikwe Game Reserve is the fourth largest in South Africa and is a malaria free region. The main building and 16 chalets are built in thatch and beautifully appointed - all opening onto wooden viewing decks overlooking the Groot Marico River. The new dècor is typical of an African safari theme with heavy dark wooden furniture complemented by soft neutral fabrics or upholstery and curtaining. The Three Cities reputation for exquisite cuisine has been introduced in line with current guest preferences. The bush theme and traditional boma dinner will remain as a major feature in addition to set menus in the restaurant for lunch and dinner.
