Where would you like to travel?

I started over 2 years ago in July 2025. My trip was Sept. 2026 for 31 days. I went to 5 tour groups and ended up with African Travel Gateway. My travel agent was Bianca Gersbach. She lessened to what I wanted. She made suggestions and put an itinerary together. I kept wanting to add more and she reeled me in. I wasn't thinking of the time and the energy it would take. I'm glad she talked to me and made suggestions. With everything on the trip it was half the price of some of the other tour groups. I was looking at. Bianca had luxury lodges and a private and knowledgeable guide/drivers for the whole trip.We went to Tanzania, Kenya, Uganda, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Botswana, South Africa. 2 months before the trip my health changed I needed different accommodations at the lodges. Bianca had to make arrangements with all the lodges so I could be comfortable. For the gorilla trekking I needed to be carried by the porters. I would not be able to climb the mountain. I was using a walker by then. A month or less I needed a wheelchair for the tours. There was more walking than I could do and not be fatigued. The wheelchair wasn't provided. At the last minute there was a scramble for the wheelchair. At the end a wheelchair was provided. All the lodges were great 99% of the tour drivers/guides were wonderful. Each park/conservancy was outstanding. We saw all the animals (The big five) and more. We went on two river cruises. Ol'Pejeta had a night drive (We went both days). He had a hot air balloon ride.The guides pointed out animals/birds we couldn't see or even know that they were there. We received twice the trip for the same amount of money as the other tour groups. The not so good parts were not Bianca responsibility but I would think she had customers that had this same problem. I had trouble with getting the visa for the African countries. I had trouble with the wire transfer. The information that was given about Africa being a Muslim country and dress modest. My husband wouldn't let me bring shorts. The seven countries we went to was christian. The airports didn't have gangplanks. They had us walk on the tarmac and walk the stairs. I couldn't walk the stairs. So, they loaded me and the other wheelchair people on a cargo container modified for people and raised/lowered the people to the airplane that way. I have never been to Africa before and its been over 20 years that I flew internationally. Just things I didn't know I didn't know. Again Bianca did a great job. 31 days and a trip of a life time.

Thanks Lize for an amazing trip. Everything was really well organised and went off without a single hitch. Our 3 camps Ruckomechi, Davidsons and Mala Mala were in different settings but all provided excellent sightings, knowledgeable guides, wonderful settings and friendly atmosphere. I would say that our guide Elias at Davidsons was the best guide we have had. I will try to send video of lioness v leopard fight in tree shortly. Ann & Geoff

Just returned from a brilliant overlanding trip through Namibia, Botswana and Zimbabwe, a journey that gave us a real taste of Africa in all its variety. Lize at ATG put together an excellent itinerary, mixing campsites, lodges and hotels to create an experience that felt both authentic and comfortable. The fly in to the Okavango Delta was absolutely unforgettable. It felt like stepping straight into a wildlife documentary, vast untouched landscapes, incredible sightings, and the sense that you’re exploring one of the last true wildernesses on earth. Wow! That is the best word to describe our fantastic safari experience crafted by Petru and the team from African Travel Gateway. Every detail was perfectly executed: from flights, to transport, to game lodges. We stayed at Notten’s and Bateleur Safari camps - both were spectacular lodges with wonderful accommodations, terrific staff, great food and fantastic daily game drives that provided up-close wildlife viewing. This time, Petru organized a trip for 10 from the United States. This trip was flawless. Petru provides excellent communication, is extremely detailed oriented and she is very patient. She is committed to customer service. I absolutely love the app that has all our documentation and important information right on your phone. She helped me choose two extraordinary bush camps for our group and negotiated prices. She makes the process very easy to plan on our end. I do think it benefits anyone from outside South Africa to use a local travel agency. I do hope to return for a 5th time and when I do I will not hesitate to use this agency and Petru again.

Some trips are great, and some stay with you forever. My journey through Cape Town, the Okavango Delta, and Victoria Falls was definitely the latter. Each destination offered something completely different. The beauty and energy of Cape Town, the magic of the Okavango Delta, and the sheer awe of Victoria Falls. Despite moving between such diverse places, everything flowed seamlessly from start to finish and for that I have to thank the team at African Travel Gateway who took care of every detail with an incredible level of care and professionalism. Communication was clear throughout, every arrangement worked perfectly, and the planning behind the scenes was evident at every stage. I had a bucket list trip. African Travel Gateway is first class all the way. I travel extensively. +/- 100,000 miles for business & pleasure in 2025. I live in Los Angeles & wanted to plan a trip of a lifetime for my girlfriend ( as a surprise birthday present in September 2025 ) I worked directly with Lize Enderstein through the entire booking/travel process. She was delightful. Personable. Communicated in a timely manner in spite of 10-11 hour time difference with Los Angeles. There was a hiccup on our trip at Mostwari Game Reserve ( i.e., hot air balloon ride that had to be canceled due to bad weather ). Balloon ride was scheduled for January 2. Lize communicated me real-time on New Years Day & worked with me to process refund for that portion of the trip. The attention to detail that Lize & African travel gateway provided was impeccable. We had an absolutely incredible experience working with Petru at African Travel Gateway. Our two-week trip (South Africa, Botswana, Namibia & Zimbabwe) was truly once-in-a-lifetime, with memories we’ll cherish forever. Everything went smoothly from start to finish. Botswana was the clear highlight of the trip. The sheer quantity and variety of wildlife we saw was amazing, and the standard of the safari lodges — especially Moremi Game Lodge — exceeded our expectations. We really felt we benefited from Petru’s experience when it came to selecting the right safari lodges, striking a balance between comfort, amenities, and overall value for money.
