On arrival at Cape Town International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by one of our trusted representatives and transferred to Nicol Street Heritage Cottages, a journey of approximately 20 to 25 minutes. Here you will spend the next three nights in the African Romance Suite on a bed and breakfast basis. Located in the vibrant and historic city centre, the cottages offer beautiful views of the iconic Table Mountain and are just a short distance from the famous V&A Waterfront and many of Cape Town’s popular attractions.
A stay at Nicol Street Heritage Cottages is an experience in itself, blending traditional Cape heritage with modern comfort. The charming cottages reflect the character and history of the area while offering stylish interiors and thoughtful luxury amenities to ensure a relaxing stay. Each morning begins with breakfast at Our Local, the on-site café, before heading out to explore the many highlights of Cape Town, from its cultural landmarks and restaurants to its breathtaking natural scenery.
After breakfast, enjoy a private half-day guided tour of Cape Town and its surrounding highlights. This tour offers an insightful introduction to South Africa’s vibrant “Mother City,” exploring its history, culture and some of its most famous landmarks. One of the highlights is a visit to Table Mountain, where you can take the cable car to the summit (tickets at own cost and weather permitting) and enjoy breathtaking views across the city, the Atlantic coastline and the surrounding mountains.
The tour also includes a city orientation drive through Cape Town’s historic centre, with visits to notable sites such as the Castle of Good Hope, the oldest surviving colonial building in South Africa, and the colourful Bo-Kaap (Malay Quarter), known for its bright houses and rich Cape Malay heritage. You will also pass the lively Adderley Street Flower Market and the historic Greenmarket Square, one of the city’s oldest markets. The afternoon is yours to enjoy at leisure—perhaps exploring more of the city, taking a walk along one of Cape Town’s beautiful beaches, or unwinding with a relaxing massage one of the nearby spas.
After breakfast, set out on a full-day private tour to explore the beautiful Cape Winelands, known for its rolling vineyards, historic estates and world-class wines. The scenic drive takes you through the renowned wine regions of Paarl, Stellenbosch and Franschhoek, where you will visit several prestigious wine estates to enjoy a variety of tastings.
During the day, indulge in carefully selected wine tastings paired with artisanal cheeses and decadent chocolate experiences, including a luxurious wine and dark chocolate pairing. Along the way you will also enjoy lunch at one of the charming wine farms, where you can relax and take in the peaceful vineyard surroundings. This delicious and leisurely day in the Cape Winelands offers the perfect combination of fine wine, gourmet flavours and beautiful scenery.
After breakfast, you will be transferred from your hotel to Cape Town International Airport, a drive of approximately 20 to 25 minutes, in time for your flight to Hoedspruit, a small town located on the edge of the Greater Kruger National Park region. The flight takes around 2.5 hours. On arrival at Hoedspruit Airport, you will be met by a lodge representative and transferred by road to Thornybush Main Lodge, a journey of about 30 to 40 minutes through the surrounding bushveld. Here you will check in for a three-night safari on a fully inclusive basis.
Thornybush Main Lodge is set within the renowned Thornybush Private Game Reserve, an exclusive safari area that shares an unfenced boundary with the Kruger National Park, allowing wildlife to roam freely across the region. The lodge offers luxurious suites designed with natural materials and warm tones that reflect the surrounding landscape. Guests can relax between safari activities in the comfortable lounge areas, by the swimming pool overlooking the bush, or enjoy romantic dinners under the stars. With experienced guides, excellent game viewing and a peaceful setting, Thornybush Main Lodge provides the perfect safari experience to complement your Cape Town honeymoon.
Spend the next two days enjoying the exciting rhythm of safari life at Thornybush Main Lodge. Your days begin early with morning game drives when the bush is cool and wildlife is most active. Accompanied by experienced guides and trackers, you will explore the reserve in open safari vehicles in search of the famous Big Five—lion, leopard, elephant, rhino and buffalo—along with many other species such as giraffe, zebra, antelope and a remarkable variety of birdlife. Refreshments are served during the drive while you pause to take in the scenery and enjoy the sounds of the African wilderness.
Thornybush Private Game Reserve is one of the most renowned safari areas in the Greater Kruger region and shares an unfenced boundary with the Kruger National Park, allowing wildlife to move freely across this vast ecosystem. This creates excellent opportunities for close wildlife encounters and diverse sightings throughout the year. In addition to game drives, guests may also choose to join guided bush walks where experienced rangers share their knowledge of animal tracks, plants and the smaller details of the bush. Between safari activities you can relax at the lodge, enjoy delicious meals and soak up the peaceful surroundings before heading out again for an afternoon and evening game drive, when nocturnal animals begin to emerge.
Your honeymoon safari concludes with a final early morning game drive in the Thornybush Private Game Reserve, offering one last opportunity to enjoy the sights and sounds of the African bush and perhaps spot wildlife you may have missed during your stay. After returning to the lodge for breakfast, you will be transferred to Hoedspruit Airport, a drive of approximately 30 to 40 minutes.
From here you will board your flight to Johannesburg’s O. R. Tambo International Airport, a journey of around 1 hour. On arrival in Johannesburg, you will connect with your onward international flight home (as arranged by you), bringing your unforgettable Cape Town and Kruger safari honeymoon to a close.
