Day 1 – Departure to Kasane, Chobe Game Lodge

Today you will board your flight from Johannesburg to Kasane, upon arrival at Kasane you will clear customs and immigration. From there you will be met by your guide from Chobe Game Lodge and transferred to the lodge where you will spend the next 3 nights on a fully inclusive basis.

Chobe Game Lodge is the oldest 5-star lodge in the Chobe region, the lodge is located within the Chobe Riverfront Reserve which forms park of the Chobe National Park and is situated on the banks of the famous Chobe River.  Each room is decorated with the highest standards with no element forgotten making your stay that of ultimate luxury.  Each room has a view out over the river, there is a riverside boma, indoor and outdoor dining areas and a beautiful rock pool. You will arrive in camp in the later afternoon in time to freshen up before afternoon tea and your first game viewing activity.  Dinner is served on return from your afternoon activity before relaxing around the fire for a nightcap.

Day 2 & 3 – On safari in the Chobe National Park

A typical day on safari will begin with tea, coffee and rusks before an early morning game viewing activity.  Being based on the banks of the Chobe River the game viewing in this area is wonderful, from all different kinds of plains game to predators such as leopards and lions, there is also a very healthy elephant population in the park.

Return to camp in time for a hearty brunch before relaxing in camp for the heat of the day.  Afternoon tea will be served mid-afternoon after which you will head out on your second game viewing activity of the day, if you did a game drive in the morning, why not try a sunset river cruise in the evening, game viewing from the river provides a unique opportunity to spot animals such as hippo, crocodile and a plethora of birdlife.  Return to camp for a 3-course meal while listening to the sounds of the river pass you by.

Day 4 – Light aircraft transfer to the Moremi Game Reserve, Camp Moremi

This morning you will begin your journey to the Moremi Game Reserve.  After breakfast and a morning activity if time allows you will be transferred back to the Kasane Airport in time for your charter flight to the Camp Moremi airstrip.  Here your guide will be waiting to transfer you to the camp where you will spend the following 3 nights on a fully inclusive basis.

Camp Moremi is located deep within the Moremi Game Reserve and is situated next to a floodplain which attached an abundance of wildlife.  Each tent has stunning views if the surrounding bushlands and are furnished with all the luxury amenities you could need during your stay. The main area comprises of a wooden walkway that links together the dining areas, the boma, bar area and swimming pool.  Once you arrive in camp you will have time to settle into your room before afternoon tea and your first game viewing activity in the Moremi Game Reserve.

Day 5 & 6 – On safari in the Moremi Game Reserve

The Moremi Game Reserve lies on the eastern edge of the Okavango Delta, a prime location for safaris as there are mainland areas as well as swamp areas in the Game Reserve.  During your game viewing activities, you are likely to see the majority or all of the Big 5, as well as plains game, wild dogs, and an abundance of birdlife.  Activities are done in the early morning and late afternoons when the temperatures are cooler, this is also when the wildlife is more active.  When in camp you can relax in your room, sit by the bar or take a dip in the pool. All camps in Botswana are unfenced so you can game view right from camp as animals often wander through camp.

Day 7 – Light aircraft transfer to the Makgadikgadi National Park, Leroo La Tau

This morning after breakfast and a last game viewing activity, if time allows, you will be transferred back to the airstrip in time for your charter flight to the Makgadikgadi National Park.  Upon arrival at the airstrip, your guide will be waiting to transfer you to Leroo La Tau where you will spend the following 2 nights on a fully inclusive basis.

Leroo La Tau is located on the cliffs overlooking the Boteti River, a seasonal river that is the lifeline for the wildlife and villages in the area.  With sweeping views over the river and the start of the Makgadikgadi National Park, this lodge is a firm favourite in the area.  Each tented chalet has large sliding doors leading onto a private patio where you can watch all the animals come down to the river to drink, the vantage point of the lodge is amazing when the annual Zebra migration passes through, you can witness hundreds of zebra walking along the river.

Day 8 – On safari in the Makgadikgadi National Park

Today will begin with early morning coffee followed by your morning game drive along the banks of the Boteti River, as you venture further into the Makgadikgadi Pans you will see the scenery start to change, from lush woodlands to vast open plains and even small salt pans.  Return to camp in time for a delicious brunch and spend the heat of the day resting in camp or taking a dip in the pool.  This afternoon you will head out on a game drive, you have a high chance of spotting many zebra and wildebeest, the Boteti River is home to smaller animals as well such as the black backed jackal, vultures, bat eared foxes and even aardvarks if you are lucky.  Return to camp in time for another delicious dinner around the boma.

Day 9 – Light Aircraft transfer to the Okavango Delta, Camp Okavango

A honeymoon trip to Botswana cannot be complete without a few nights in the famous Okavango Delta.  This morning you will be transferred back to the airstrip in time for your flight to one of the most sought-after safari destinations – The Okavango Delta.

Upon arrival at the airstrip, your guide will be waiting to transfer you to Camp Okavango where you will spend your last 2 nights on a fully inclusive basis.  Your luxury tented rooms are all built on raised platforms underneath the trees providing a tranquil space to unwind in.  Raised wooden walkways connect the rooms to the main areas of camp which comprise of the dining/lounge area, the bar, library, boma and swimming pool.  Enjoy settling into camp before going on your first activity in the Delta.

Day 10 – On safari in the Okavango Delta

As Camp Okavango is located in the heart of the Delta there is often permanent water, this means that you can experience land based and water-based game viewing opportunities at Camp Okavango.  A mokoro trip through the winding waterways is a must whilst in the Delta, there is something special about drifting along the clear waters watching the animals on the banks of the rivers.  And if you are not a fan of being on the water the game drives are just as spectacular. Being in an oasis of land and water the wildlife is plentiful, giving you very high chances of spotting all of the Big 5 and if you are lucky even the Little 5 (lions ants, buffalo weavers, leopard tortoises, elephant shrews and rhino beetles).  As you sit around the campfire listening to the night sounds you will take in all that you have experienced over the past 10 days in Botswana.

Day 11 – Departure for Johannesburg

As all good things do, your time in Botswana drawers to a close.  After breakfast and a quick morning activity if time allows, you will be transferred back to the airstrip in time for your charter flight to Maun International Airport.  From here you will board your flight back to Johannesburg where you will continue you onward journey with wonderful memories of your honeymoon in Botswana.
