This 3 night Okavango Fly In Safari operates out of Johannesburg, via Maun into the Okavango Delta. It is a short safari that gives you a good experience of the Okavango Delta of northern Botswana. The safari makes use of the Camp Xaxanaka (pronounced ‘Kakannaka’) in the Moremi Game Reserve, known for its rich and diverse range of wildlife species.
Day 01 - Johannesburg to Okavango Delta
Today you will meet your flight from OR Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg to the Maun Airport in Botswana. On arrival in Maun you will board your light aircraft transfer to the Camp Xakanaxa in the Okavango Delta, where you will spend the next 03 nights on a fully inclusive basis.
Camp Xakanaxa over looks the Khwai River, ones of the main channels of the Okavango Delta. As such it is perfectly situated to be able to offer guests both ‘dry’ and ‘‘wet’ safari activities, that is boating and mokoro (dug out canoes) trips, as well as open vehicle safaris. The camp itself is a charming 12 tented luxury safari camp (sleeps just 24). Each luxury tent is spacious, en-suite and has its own viewing deck leading off the tent.
Day 2 to 3 - On Safari in the Okavango Delta
The terrain in the area around Camp Xaxanaka is a breath taking mix of lagoons, channels, islands and wooded flood plains that are home to many different game species including lion, leopard, elephant, hippo and buffalo, as well as a diverse range of birdlife.
Day 4 - Okavango Delta to Johannesburg
Today after breakfast and your morning safari you will be transferred back to the airstrip where you board a light aircraft for a transfer back to Maun. Here you will connect with your outbound flight back to OR Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg, South Africa.
