Today you depart from OR Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg and board your flight to Victoria Falls Airport. On arrival, you will be warmly welcomed and transferred to Ilala Lodge Hotel, ideally located in the centre of Victoria Falls Town and within easy walking distance of the entrance to the Falls themselves.
Ilala Lodge offers comfortable and elegant accommodation set within landscaped gardens that often attract visiting wildlife such as warthogs and bushbuck. The rooms are spacious and well-appointed, with private balconies or patios overlooking the gardens or facing toward the mist rising from the Falls. The hotel’s award-winning Cassia Restaurant is known for its excellent cuisine and fine wines, making it a popular dining choice in town.
The afternoon is yours to explore at leisure - perhaps browse the local markets, visit the nearby craft shops, or take a short walk toward the Falls. In the evening, you can enjoy dinner at the lodge or choose from one of the many nearby restaurants, setting the tone for the exciting days ahead.
After breakfast at Ilala Lodge Hotel, you’ll head out on a guided tour of the spectacular Victoria Falls. This approximately 3-kilometre walking tour takes you along a series of scenic viewpoints, including the impressive Devil’s Cataract, while winding through the lush rainforest sustained by the constant spray of the Falls. The rainforest is rich in birdlife and unique plant species, and at certain viewpoints you may feel the refreshing mist - so it’s wise to protect your camera and phone from the spray.
Following your visit to the Falls, you’ll be transferred across the border into Botswana and onward to Chobe National Park. Your destination is Chobe Elephant Camp, perched on a rocky ridge with sweeping views over the Chobe River floodplains. Designed in a modern safari style, the camp offers spacious rooms with private decks, comfortable furnishings, and panoramic river views. You’ll arrive in time for afternoon tea before heading out on your first game drive. Your two-night stay is fully inclusive, featuring guided safari activities, meals, and drinks, ensuring a relaxed and immersive experience in this wildlife-rich region.
Today is dedicated to exploring the wildlife-rich landscapes of Chobe National Park, one of Africa’s premier safari destinations and home to one of the largest elephant populations on the continent. From Chobe Elephant Camp, you can enjoy a range of guided activities designed to showcase the diversity of the park.
Morning and afternoon game drives take you through riverine woodlands and open floodplains in search of elephants, buffalo, lion, giraffe, and a wide variety of antelope species. Boat cruises along the Chobe River provide a different perspective, allowing you to get close to wildlife gathering at the water’s edge, while canoeing excursions (water levels permitting) offer a peaceful and intimate way to explore the floodplains. If you prefer a slower pace, you can simply relax at camp and enjoy the sweeping river views from your chalet, where wildlife sightings are often possible right from the lodge.
After breakfast at Chobe Elephant Camp, you’ll be transferred to Kasane Airport for your light aircraft flight to the Khwai Community Concession. The scenic flight offers incredible aerial views of winding waterways, floodplains, and scattered islands before landing at Khwai Airstrip. On arrival, your guide will meet you and transfer you to Sango Safari Camp, your home for the next three nights.
Sango Safari Camp is located within the wildlife-rich Khwai Community Concession, which borders the renowned Moremi Game Reserve. This private concession allows for a more exclusive safari experience, including off-road driving and night safaris. The camp features spacious Meru-style safari tents with ensuite bathrooms and private decks overlooking the surrounding bush, blending comfort with an authentic wilderness atmosphere.
After settling in, you can relax in camp or head out on your first safari activity, depending on your arrival time. Your three-night stay is on a fully inclusive basis, with guided game drives, delicious meals, and drinks included, ensuring a seamless and immersive Delta safari experience.
Over the next two days, you’ll explore the wildlife-rich Khwai Community Concession, located on the edge of the Okavango Delta. The Khwai River runs through the concession, drawing abundant wildlife to its floodplains and woodlands throughout the year. This community-managed area offers an exclusive safari experience while supporting local conservation initiatives.
Game viewing is excellent, with frequent sightings of elephant, buffalo, giraffe, kudu, and hippo, along with strong predator presence including lion, leopard, hyena, and African wild dog. You can enjoy day and night game drives, and depending on water levels, mokoro or motorboat excursions along the Delta channels. Cultural visits to the local community are also available, adding a meaningful dimension to your Okavango safari experience.
After breakfast at Sango Safari Camp, you may have time for one final safari activity in the Khwai Community Concession, perhaps a short morning game drive to soak up the last sights and sounds of the Okavango Delta.
You will then be transferred to Khwai Airstrip for your light aircraft flight to Maun International Airport. From Maun, you’ll connect with your onward flight to Johannesburg, bringing your Southern African safari adventure to a close with unforgettable memories of Victoria Falls, Chobe, and the Okavango Delta.
