It was the ‘land God made in anger’, according to the San Bushmen of Namibia. An agreeable assessment of this hostile but hauntingly beautiful desert wilderness. The landscape has dunes, sweeping flood plains, rugged mountains and open space as far as the eye can see, all of it guarded by the deep icy blue waters of the Atlantic Ocean.

The Skeleton Coast is known for its vast open spaces

The Shipwreck Lodge is a unique place in itself. With just 10 rooms built in the theme of shipwrecks. Each room has all the modern comforts of wifi, en-suite bathroom and power by the sun. Activities included in your stay include visits to the Mowe Bay seal colony, exploring the Suiderkus and Karimona shipwrecks, and the remnants of the Ventura Bomber. We enjoy sundowners drives to the roaring dunes, Quad biking & sand boarding and 4×4 drives along the Hoarusib River a ribbon of green in this otherwise red and brown world.
