The Pangolin Voyager Overview

Officially based on the Namibian bank of the Chobe River, the Pangolin Voyager is best accessed via the small Botswana town of Kasane. The Pangolin Voyager is berthed only 70 km upstream from the majestic Victoria Falls and a visit to this UNESCO World Heritage Site is a ‘must’ on all itineraries. The Zambezi River thunders over these roaring falls, aptly renamed Mosi-oa-Tunya, The smoke that thunders.

The middle deck features an exclusive lounge and dining areas where scrumptious meals are served at the large central table. Sweeping views of the river and bush beyond complete your dining experience. The leather sofas and well-stocked bar make a visit to the lounge area an enjoyable experience while the reference library and binoculars are useful tools for game viewing. The open-air Jacuzzi provides a luxurious reprieve from those hot and sunny African days. Sundowners and stargazing are enjoyed from sun loungers on the open-air deck. In short, everything you need for a comfortable stay has been thought of at the Pangolin Voyager. This floating lodge allows you to explore the rich floodplains in the relaxed style of a bygone era.

Our onboard chef is ready to serve tea, coffee, cereal, and muffins before your early morning game-viewing excursion or fishing expedition. Upon your return, you will be treated to a full English breakfast. High tea is served before the afternoon’s activities and in the evening a three-course meal, followed by a nightcap is enjoyed as the African sun sets accompanied by the roar of a lion or cackle of a hyena in the distance.

We used African Travel again for the second time over Xmas and New Year. Once again, every little bit of our trip ran smoothly and without a hitch. Their communication was great throughout and we will, no doubt, be returning to them in the future too. Thanks Petru.

We had the most amazing time on our self drive tour of Namibia organised through African Travel Gateway. Everything from the planning and booking process, to the arrival and welcome in Windhoek, to the app with the itinerary and directions made for a really relaxed and well organised holiday. But the most important part was getting to experience Namibia - what a spectacular country! The only negative was that we should have booked for longer!
