Day 1 – Arrival in Cape Town, travel to Darling Lodge Guest House, Darling

Upon arrival at Cape Town International Airport, you will be met by your guide for the duration of your flower tour.  You will then begin your drive up the West Coast to the quaint town of Darling.  Along the way, you have the chance to stop and view the wildflowers that will be in abundance just on the side of the road.  You will overnight at the Darling Lodge Guest House on a bed-and-breakfast basis.

Day 2 – Depart Darling, travel to The Farmhouse Hotel, Langebaan

Today takes you on a tranquil drive further up the West Coast to the beachside town of Langebaan where you will spend the night at The Farmhouse Hotel on a bed-and-breakfast basis. The Farmhouse Hotel is located on the edge of the lagoon with beautiful views of the beach.  Take a drive into the West Coast National Park to view the stunning array of wildflowers on show, relax at the hotel or enjoy a quiet stroll on the beach.

Day 3 & 4 – Depart Langebaan for Gannanga Lodge, The Tankwa Karoo National Park

Today takes you south through the quiet towns of Reibeek-Kasteel, Tulbagh and Ceres on our way to the Tankwa Karoo National Park.  This drive is a very scenic one travelling through the Groot Winterhoek Wilderness area and over some stunning mountain passes. There will be plenty of places to stop and take in the views of the landscapes which will be dotted with colour from the flowers. We will stop for lunch along the way and after lunch, we will travel into the Tankwa Karoo National Park.

You will spend the next two nights at Gannanga Lodge.  Spend your days exploring the vast and arid Karoo landscapes, a visit to Gannanga Pass is always good for some spectacular views of the Karoo.  Evenings can be spent stargazing or sitting in the lodge’s expansive and cosy library. There are many activities to keep you occupied during your stay, or you could just choose to laze by the pool and take in the views.

Day 5 & 6 – Depart The Karoo for The Cederberg, Bushmans Kloof Wilderness Reserve

After breakfast, we will leave behind the vast Karoo and travel to the Cederberg Mountains.  Today’s drive takes us north out of the Karoo and back into the mountainous landscapes of the Western Cape.  We will have the opportunity to visit the Ramskop Wildflower Reserve and have lunch at a restaurant in Clanwilliam before heading into Bushman’s Kloof Wilderness Reserve.

You will spend the next two nights on the reserve on a full-board basis.  The lodge is situated amongst the rugged mountainside and offers the best luxury experiences.  Each room is tastefully furnished with all you could need.  Spend your days on nature drives and walks, visit the ancient rock paintings, treat yourself to a relaxing spa treatment or just enjoy the peace and tranquillity that Bushman’s Kloof offers.

Day 7 – Depart for Cape Town International Airport

Your 7 Day 7-Day Wildflower & Karoo Tour sadly is coming to an end.  After breakfast and a morning activity, if time allows, you will begin your journey back to Cape Town.  Along the drive, you will take in the beauty of the Western Cape before arriving at Cape Town International Airport for your onward flight.
