Day 1 – Arrive in Joburg, flight to Skukuza, transfer to Londolozi Game Reserve, Founders Camp

Day 1 – Arrive in Joburg, flight to Skukuza, transfer to Londolozi Game Reserve, Founders Camp

Upon arrival at the Johannesburg Airport, you will catch your connecting flight to Skukuza Airport.  From here you will be transferred into the Londolozi Game Reserve situated on the open border to the Kruger National Park. You will be staying at Founders Camp which is situated along the Sand River, attracting an abundance of wildlife right to the camp.  The chalets are set along the river banks under the large ebony trees, each chalet has a gorgeous view of the Sand River and you can expect to see some wildlife right from your deck.  Each room is fitted with all the necessities you need to make your stay a comfortable and luxurious one.

Days 2 & 3 – On safari in the Londolozi Game Reserve

A typical day on safari will begin with early morning tea and rusks before you head out on your morning activity, either a game drive or a guided walking safari where you will have the chance to do some game viewing and a chance to spot some or all of the Big 5.

Children over the age of 6 are welcome on game drives, if they are younger or opt out of the game drive there are plenty of activities to keep them busy.  The Londolozi Cub’s Den will keep your kids busy with activities such as fishing, baking, animal track moulding, sandcastle building, arts and crafts and so much more.  Parents can take some time out for themselves while the kids are busy learning all about the African Bush.

A delicious brunch is served on arrival back from your activities and then the afternoon is yours to relax in camp, take a dip in the pool, game watch from the deck or have an afternoon siesta. 
Afternoon tea is then served before you head out on your afternoon safari, you will stop along the way for some sundowners as you watch the sun slip beneath the horizon before heading back to camp for another tasty dinner around the boma.

Day 4 – Flight to Johannesburg, overnight Intercontinental Airport Hotel

Today has you travelling back to Johannesburg, after your breakfast and morning game activity you will be transferred back to Skukuza Airport in time for your flight to Johannesburg. You will spend one night at the Intercontinental Airport Hotel before you begin your beach adventure tomorrow.

Day 5 – Flight to Vilanculos, boat transfer to Bazaruto Island Resort

Today you will board your flight from Johannesburg to Vilanculos Airport in Mozambique.  Upon arrival in Vilanculos, you will be transferred to the marina for your boat transfer across to Bazaruto Island, here you will spend the next few nights in a tropical paradise at Bazaruto Island Resort.  Situated on its own private island, Bazaruto Island Resort is the perfect place to unwind and immerse yourself in the beauty and tranquillity of the Indian Ocean.  Each villa has a private pool, a relaxing lounge, and comfortable beds with amazing views out over Bazaruto Bay.  Each villa has all the amenities that you will need in this beach paradise to make your stay comfortable, there will also be a few welcome surprises for the kids when you arrive at your room.

Day 6 & 7 – Bazaruto Island Resort

These next few days are spent at your leisure on the island soaking up the sun.  Activities at Bazaruto Island Resort include snorkelling, scuba diving, sunset boat cruises, paddle boarding, kayaking, dolphin spotting, and of course relaxing on the beautiful white beaches that surround the island.

Bazaruto Island Resort is tailored to families and has a wide range of activities to keep the children occupied.  From their children’s club where they can channel their creativity with arts and crafts, to fishing on the shoreline, African dancing lessons, treasure hunts and so much more. Parents can take some time out for themselves knowing their children are in great hands.

There is also a luxury spa on-site if you want to treat yourself to a spa treatment, indulge in fresh seafood and swim in crystal-clear waters.

Day 8 – Return to Johannesburg, Departure

As all good things do, your time in South Africa and Mozambique draws to a close.
After breakfast, you will be transferred by boat back to Vilanculos mainland and then onto the airport in time for your flight to Johannesburg.  You will then continue your onward journey with wonderful memories of your time in these beautiful countries.
