8 Day Safari and Beach Honeymoon

Day 1

Depart for Phinda Private Game Reserve, andBeyond Phinda Forest Lodge

Today you will board your flight from Johannesburg to Richards Bay.  Upon arrival at Richards Bay Airport you will be met in the arrivals hall by a representative from andBeyond, you will then be transferred to the Phinda Private Game Reserve, where you will spend the following 3 nights at Phinda Forest Lodge on a fully inclusive basis.

Phinda Forest Lodge is set within the towering trees of the Sand Forest that makes up the Phinda Private Game Reserve.  Each suite blends into the surrounding woodlands and features a luxurious king-sized bed, ensuite bathroom and private veranda, filled with all the amenities you could need for your stay.  After you have settled into your suite, afternoon tea is served followed by your first game drive in the reserve.  Dinner is served after your afternoon activities, dine outdoors under the torchwood trees whilst listening to the night sounds of the African bush.

Day 2 & 3

On safari in the Phinda Private Game Reserve

A typical day on safari will begin with early morning tea and rusks before you head out on your morning activity, either a game drive or a guided walking safari where you will have the chance to do some game viewing and a chance to spot some or all of the Big 5.

A delicious brunch is served on arrival back from your activities and then the afternoon is yours to relax in camp, take a dip in the pool, game watch from the deck or have an afternoon siesta. 
Afternoon tea is then served before you head out on your afternoon safari, you will stop along the way for some sundowners as you watch the sun slip beneath the horizon before heading back to camp for another tasty dinner around the boma.

Day 4

Depart for Johannesburg, InterContinental OR Tambo Airport Hotel

This morning after breakfast you will be transferred back to the Richards Bay Airport in time for your flight to Johannesburg. Upon arrival, you will make your way to the InterContinental PR Tambo Airport Hotel, situated just a short walk through the terminal building.  You will spend the night here on a bed-and-breakfast basis before your beach adventure begins tomorrow.

Day 5

Depart for Mozambique, andBeyond Benguerra Island Resort

This morning after breakfast you will make your way back into the OR Tambo Airport terminal to check in for your flight to Vilankulos, Mozambique.  Upon arrival at Vilankulos Airport, you will clear customs and immigration, from there a representative from andBeyond will be waiting to meet you and show you to the check-in for your helicopter transfer to Benguerra Island.  Benguerra Island Resort is located on Benguerra Island within the Bazaruto Archipelago, you will spend the next 3 nights here on a fully inclusive basis.

You will arrive in the afternoon in time to check in and settle into your room, each room is set amongst the tropical palm trees with gorgeous views over the beach, furnished with all you could need to make your stay comfortable.  After you have settled in why not take a sunset dhow cruise or just relax at the bar with a delicious cocktail watching the sun slip beneath the ocean’s horizon.

Day 6 & 7

Benguerra Island

The next two days are yours to spend at leisure around the island or trying out some of the included water sports.  Enjoy a delicious breakfast filled with tropical delights before taking a romantic stroll along the pristine white beaches.  Water activities that are included at Benguerra Island resort are dhow cruises, snorkelling, scuba diving and there are also island nature drives available.

On one of the full days you are on the island, you will be whisked away for a romantic castaway picnic, on a secluded beach you will enjoy a delicious picnic and have the chance to explore the highest dune on the Bazaruto Archipelago, be sure to take your camera as the views are incredible.

Day 8

Depart for Johannesburg

As all good things do, your time in South Africa and Mozambique draws to a close.  After your last tasty breakfast and a last stroll on the beach, you will be transferred by helicopter back to Vilankulos Airport where you will board your flight back to Johannesburg with wonderful memories of your African Honeymoon.
