After a good night’s rest and your breakfast we travel by road to the Lake Manyara… enjoying picnic lunch and game viewing at Lake Manyara National Park. Here you will spend (1) night on a full board basis at the Lake Manyara Serena Lodge. (All meals)
Lake Manyara is the 7th largest lake in Tanzania, consisting of a 600m high rift escarpment in the lake… a place where animals drink water. A rich area of fish, animals and great bird species! Mto wa Mbu escarpment provides a backdrop for a one-of-a-kind visit and awaits your beautiful visit! A night game drive is a wonderful extra add on activity at $200 per person.
Day 03: Lake Manyara to Serengeti National Park (BLD)
After breakfast, we head out to the Serengeti National Park going via the Olduvai Gorge, where you will visit the Gorge and the Museum at an additional cost of U$ 50 per person. We can then continue to visit a Masai Village for the cultural tour experience at an additional extra cost of U$ 35 per person. Continue with enjoying game viewing and enjoy the next (2) nights on a full board basis at the Serengeti Serena Lodge OR Serena Mbuzi Mawe Camp. (All meals)
Well-known and famous for its great migration of wildebeest and zebra, Nile crocodiles and honey badgers await the rivers and one’s nerves getting each one across the river! These endless plains feel as if they run forever with their rich wildlife… be sure to capture the big five and explore the nature around you as you take in every moment in time! A visit to the Olduvai Museum or a Masai Village tour is an optional activity at $50 per person.
Day 04: On Safari in the Serengeti National Park (BLD)
Serengeti National Park enjoys your full-day game viewing with a choice of hot lunch at the lodge or picnic lunch.
The Big Five:
- Lion… It is believed that Serengeti holds the largest population of lions in Africa
- Leopard… Commonly seen here in the Serengeti and present throughout the park
- Elephant… They recovered greatly and successfully in the Serengeti
- Black Rhinoceros… A small but stable population left in this park and mainly found in the centre of the park at the Kopjes
- Buffalo… The most numerous of the Big Five found in the Serengeti Park
Other carnivores found there include the cheetah, spotted hyena, jackals, golden wolf, honey badger, serval, mongooses, wild dogs and so much more! The wildlife won’t let you down here and you will be sure to see them all! An optional extra of a hot air balloon trip is highly recommended on either day 4 or 5 of your trip.
Day 05: Serengeti National Park to Ngorongoro Crater (BLD)
After breakfast, you will check out and enjoy game viewing en route to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, via the Malanja Depression, passing through various Masai Villages. Your lodge is located in the prime location on the crater rim. Here you will spend (1) night on a full board basis at the Ngorongoro Serena Lodge OR Ngorongoro Lions Paw Camp. (All meals)
The Ngorongoro Conservation area is protected and situated on the west of Arusha. The large volcano caldera is also named the Ngorongoro Crater… the largest inactive, intact and unfilled volcanic caldera, rich in wildlife, be sure to have some fun during the day!
Day 06: Ngorongoro Crater to Lake Manyara (BLD)
Another great day awaits and we continue after your breakfast to the Ngorongoro Crater for your half-day game viewing, enjoying picnic lunch and this afternoon we proceed to your lodge, located in the Great Rift Valley. Here you will spend (1) night on a full board basis at the Lake Manyara Serena Lodge OR Kirurumu Tented Lodge. (All meals)
The Ngorongoro Crater is notable for the spectacular scenic combination of the verdant plains of the lake-studded crater floor and the imposing 600 m / 1968 ft cliffs that enclose it on all sides. The guides call Ngorongoro “The Garden of Eden” and it is easy to see why…. You can see lions, elephants, zebras and giraffes, hippos and rhinos in one small area – and being such a small space, you are almost guaranteed to see the well-fed animals! Fabulous!
Day 07: Lake Manyara to Arusha (B)
Today marks the end of your Tanzania Safari and after breakfast, we make our way to Arusha, via the Great Rift Valley and African Village of Mto Wa Mbu and Makuyuni Village.
